Glossary of Terms

Corked, also known as a cork taint, is a term used in wine tasting to specify a wine fault. It is characterised by undesirable smells and tastes found in a bottle of wine with a wooden cork caused by TCA or TBA. Wine manufacturers may used plastic corks or screw tops to prevent this wine fault occurring.
