A ratchet corkscrew is a style of corkscrew which uses a ratchet mechanism to remove wine corks. Designed to help relieve strain, a ratchet corkscrew features a worm which is twisted into the cork, then the corkscrew is turned upright and the lever is pumped to remove the cork.
